Hampstead and Highgate Circular Walk

The Heath Circular walkThis walk links many of the green spaces to the south of Finchley in a circular walk with a country feel; one route is shown but there are endless variations.

Watchpoints:
1. Arriving at the road near the Spaniards cross over at the zebra crossing and take the narrow gate into Kenwood to your right. Follow the right boundary round and down to the main path where you may choose to pass the house or go through the wood to the lake.
2. Exit the heath by the allotments and walk up through Fitzroy Park. At the top you can meander to the Flask and the village green or go straight to Highgate North Road.
3. Take the right turn along Castle Yard to join Southwood Lane and follow it down and across the Archway Road. Here go direct to Highgate Wood or take a detour through Queens Wood.
4. A passageway allows you to gain Fordington Road.
5. Exit the rear of the station for access to Edmunds Walk, then Deansway and Vivian Way. A passageway from Norrice Lea gives access to Lyttleton playing fields. See Local Green Spaces for route to Big Wood and Byways to Hampstead for continuation to Spaniards.
